Los Cabos has rapidly become the golf capital of Mexico. There are
six major golf courses in Baja California, five of which are championship

All are a short drive from both San Jose del Cabo and Cabo San Lucas
and offer spectacular scenery.
Cabo

| Fishing
The reputation of Baja as one of the world's best sports fishing
regions is most certainly well deserved. Although it is best known
for its billfish (marlin, sailfish & swordfish) and other deep-sea
fishing; it's surf, small boat and spear fishing are also fantastic.
Pangas
are available from $150 a day. These are open 22' boats that will
hold up to 3 people. They usually leave about sunup and return between
12-1:00 P.M.
Surf (on-shore) fishing can be enjoyed by anyone with a rod and
reel anywhere along the coast that you can cast a line out. The
most common catches in San Jose bay are yellowtail and silver croaker,
jack crevalle, pompano and small hammerhead shark. |

Snorkeling
& Diving
The Cabo Pulmo Reef is the northernmost LIVING coral reef in the Eastern
Pacific ocean and the ONLY living coral reef in the entire Sea of
Cortez. It has become a popular attraction for divers visiting this
remote area as well as divers shuttling in by various methods from
both Cabo San Lucas and La Paz.
The
reef itself owes its existence to the natural geography of the surrounding
bay, which shelters the reef and keeps the waters constant at approximately
70 degrees, an essential environment for coral growth. The bay is
an ideal place for snorkelers and beginning divers with much of the
reef accessible from shore. |
Whale
Watching
There are nine different species of whales which head to the Baja
between January and April each year for breeding and calving of
their young. The species include humpback whales, which range in
size from 37 to 49 feet in length and weigh 100 - 200 tons. Humpbacks
are known for the singing of the longest and most complex songs
in the animal kingdom. However, the most famous whale for this area
has to be the gray whales.
They are well known not only for their record endurance of the longest
migrations of any mammal (traveling over 10,000 to 14,000 miles
annually) but because they are most frequently visible from shore. |

Surfing
Surfing can be enjoyed on the Baja in both summer and winter. Winter
swells along the Pacific shore create point breaks in such well
known locations as San Pedrito and Cerrotos, but the locals have
their own "secret spots" one can seek out. During
the summer, Los Cabos is the place to be! When the summer swells
hit, surfable waves can be "caught" all the way from San
Jose to Los Barilles.
Other
Activities
Jeep Adventures, mountain hiking, historic tours, horseback riding,
wind surfing and kayaking are all wonderful ways to explore beautiful
Los Cabos.

ATV
Tours
A wonderful way to discover the desert's ecosystem here in Los Cabos
is on an ATV. This is something the whole family can enjoy. One
of the most scenic tours is the ecological tour taken from the Cabo
Real golf course area. This takes you through 25 miles of scenic
trails crossing over arroyos (dry riverbeds), climbing mountainsides
and dipping through narrow canyons. Views of the Sea of Cortez along
the way are stunning. Tours of the old lighthouse and the surrounding
sand dunes just outside of Cabo San Lucas as well as East Cape tours
from San Jose are also very popular.
